What file formats and sizes are supported for file uploads?
Supported file formats
Most common file formats are supported for file uploads across the ITONICS application (file fields, references, and workflow file uploads), including:
- Documents: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx, .csv, .pub, .msg
- Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .webp
- Video: .mp4, .mov
- Audio: .mp3, .wav
- Archives: .zip, .zipx
- Other tools: .pbix (Power BI), .mmap (MindManager), .yxmd / .yxmc / .yxwz / .yxzp (Alteryx)
Note: Image-specific fields, such as the Header Image of an element or the user Profile Image, are restricted to image formats only (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .webp).
For security reasons, executable and script files (e.g., .exe, .bat, .js, .vbs) and browser-renderable files (e.g., .html, .htm) cannot be uploaded. All uploaded files are validated server-side based on their actual file content — not just the file extension — and are scanned upon upload.

The list of supported file formats and the maximum file size can be adjusted for your system. If you require additional file formats or a different file size limit, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
