Upcoming release - Enterprise 3.26.0 - Happy Honeydew (by beginning of Q4 2026)

ITONICS Enterprise MCP

We are introducing ITONICS Enterprise MCP — a standardized integration that connects AI assistants such as Claude, or your own custom-built AI applications directly to your ITONICS Innovation OS. Until now, teams relying on AI tools either had to manually export data from ITONICS and paste it into their AI environment, or build and maintain custom API-based automations from scratch, including managing authentication themselves — an experience that was neither user-friendly nor accessible without dedicated technical expertise. With ITONICS Enterprise MCP, your AI assistant can search, read, create, and update elements in your ITONICS instance directly — enabling workflows such as querying your technology portfolio in natural language, having an AI pipeline populate your campaigns with generated ideas, or letting an agent enrich your element from an external report.

Automated numeric aggregation across parent-child hierarchies

Configurable numeric aggregation for parent-child element structures now enables the automatic roll-up of numeric field values from child elements into a system-calculated field on the parent. Until now, teams managing hierarchical structures — such as projects with cost-bearing activities or portfolios containing demand and project elements — had no way to derive parent-level totals automatically, forcing manual calculations outside the platform and leaving aggregated figures unavailable in charts, exports, and API responses. Application Owners can configure multiple aggregation mappings directly within the Parent-Child configuration, selecting the source fields from the child entity type and the aggregation mode — Sum, Average, Minimum, Maximum, or Count — with the resulting field automatically kept in sync whenever child data changes, and immediately available for further analysis across visualizations, Dashboard charts, Excel and PDF exports, and the API.

Besides, you may already anticipate the following:

API

  • Extending the ITONICS REST API with an OAuth2 client credentials grant type, enabling secure machine-to-machine integrations using only a client ID and secret — without transmitting user credentials — to meet enterprise compliance standards for automated and server-to-server workflows.
  • API GET endpoints for elements and users will support two new optional parameters — fields_included and fields_excluded — letting integrations and AI-based automations retrieve only the specific fields they need, reducing payload size and improving performance for data-driven applications.
  • Filter and sort capabilities across element, rating, and follower/like GET endpoints are being significantly expanded to cover a wider range of field types and enable sorting by rating criteria, so complexer queries can be expressed directly via the API without client-side post-processing.

Campaigns

  • Bringing the submission field configuration more in line with the standard entity field configuration by introducing a consistent tab structure and aligned terminology alongside expanded capabilities, including User Search Field extensions, date picker reminders scoped to the campaign use case, and multi-select options for list fields.

External gateway

  • Supporting a broader range of field types for the External Gateway's automated field mapping — including User Search Fields, User Group Search Fields, segment fields, date pickers, term search fields, and element search fields — giving Application Owners greater flexibility in pre-assigning field values to all incoming submissions.

Filters/Sorting

  • Sorting search results by rating criteria will become available system-wide when a single entity type is selected, surfaced through a nested sub-menu in the existing sort control — making it easy to rank elements by rating criteria, e.g. strategic relevance, maturity level, or any other configured rating dimension.

Insights

  • The Signals tab is evolving into an AI-powered Insights feed, replacing the current overwhelming list of signals results with a more curated, synthesised, perspective-based summary that surface what matters most directly in context of the element you are viewing.

Roadmap

  • Implementing a new functionality called Roadmap Manager, granting specific users full editorial authority — including adding, moving, and removing elements, managing connections, and editing milestones — without requiring system-wide roadmap editing permissions, allowing for more granular, decentralized management of roadmaps.
  • When saving a Quick View on the Roadmap, users will be able to choose whether it applies to the current roadmap only or across all roadmaps, keeping the Quick View panel focused and manageable for teams handling larger roadmap portfolios.
  • Enabling grouping of roadmaps into named clusters in the Roadmap navigation menu — reusing the same grouping mechanism already available for the Explorer — making it significantly easier to navigate larger roadmap portfolios.

Tables

  • Individual table structures can be locked for UI-based editing, protecting data written from external systems via the table data API from accidental manual changes while leaving API and Excel import access unrestricted.

UX/UI

  • Updating the design of our system email notifications to feature a more modern, professional aesthetic and improving recognisability.
  • Enhancing platform usability with a visual refresh of configuration pages, designed to improve clarity and modernize look and feel of the Innovation OS.

Upcoming release - Enterprise 3.27.0 (by beginning of Q1 2027)

Following are some highlights for another upcoming release that will help you innovate better. Faster. Together.

Enhanced Value Change and Value Add workflow triggers

We are upgrading the Value Change and Value Add workflow triggers to support the simultaneous update of multiple fields and values within a single action. This enhancement provides greater flexibility for complex workflows and branching scenarios, allowing for more sophisticated automation of your stage-gate-processes. By enabling multi-select field updates, administrators can now streamline data transitions and ensure value updates with significantly less configuration overhead.

Besides, you may already anticipate the following:

Logs (for auditing)

  • System Logs are being extended with additional compliance-grade audit categories — covering account management, object access, application configuration changes, and user activity — exposed both in the System Logs UI and via dedicated API endpoints to support SIEM integration and regulated-industry audit trail requirements.

Parent child

  • Including segment fields in parent-child field inheritance mappings for consistency, so that when a child element is created from a parent, the parent's segment value — including its full hierarchical sub-segment selection — is automatically pre-populated in the child create form.

Roadmap

  • Implementing a redirect from the roadmap tab to easily pre-filter a roadmap view based on a particular for element and its direct connections, allowing you to conveniently assess connection depth.
  • Enhancing and strengthening roadmap governance with a new approval workflow for connections, ensuring that only validated dependencies are reflected in your strategic planning.
  • Sharing a roadmap with colleagues will be possible directly from the roadmap toolbar, allowing users to select recipients, add an optional message, and notify relevant team members in-platform — mirroring the existing element share functionality.

Upcoming release - Enterprise 3.28.0 (by beginning of Q2 2027)

Following are some highlights for another upcoming release that will help you innovate better. Faster. Together.

You may already anticipate the following:

Campaigns

  • Redesigning the campaign phase overview to provide a more intuitive and streamlined user experience.
  • Extending bulk rating beyond the Campaigns module to standard entity types and parent-child setups — allowing users to select multiple elements in the Explorer and rate them in sequence, or, in a parent-child configuration, rate all assigned child elements directly from the parent element's detail page, significantly reducing the time and effort required to complete structured evaluation exercises across large element sets.

Roadmap

  • Improving the capabilities and understandability of the critical path feature for the roadmap visualization.
